These are the most cited OSHA violations

When Cincinnati employees go to work each day, they expect they will return home in the same condition each night. Most of the time this is true, but occasionally a workplace accident occurs that causes serious injuries and requires an employee to obtain workers' compensation. Some jobs are more dangerous than others, but a workplace accident can occur to anyone in any work environment.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration has just released the top 10 most cited safety violations in the United States for 2016. For the sixth straight year, falls have been the most cited violation. This usually means that fall protection was required at the job site but was not present.

The second most cited category was hazard communication. This standard is where there are chemical hazards and the communication that is required to give employees in order to keep them safe. Founding up the top three safety violations is scaffolding. This covers all the safety requirements regarding scaffolding including how it should be installed and designed and the requirement for employers to protect their employees from falls and falling objects.

Employers who do not follow proper safety procedures can cause their employees to suffer from workplace accidents. Luckily injured employees are covered by workers' compensation insurance. Workers compensation can insure that an employee will receive comprehensive medical care, rehabilitation and job training if needed. They can also receive a salary while being out of work.

If a Cincinnati employee has been injured on the job, they may want to speak with a legal professional skilled in workers' compensation to ensure they are receiving all the benefits they are entitled to. When an employee is injured on the job they can feel apprehensive about their future. Workers' compensation is there to help employees get back on their feet and fully recover from their injuries.
