Exploring the dangers of construction sites

Construction accidents are not uncommon throughout the United States, including the Cincinnati, Ohio area. With our country's constantly evolving and upgrading society, it seems there are always new construction projects as well as upgrades and repairs to current buildings and our country's infrastructure.

Whether it is doing new road construction or road repairs, fixing our often-crumbling infrastructure, or the building of new residential, commercial or industrial structures, construction is constant. While working with large equipment and materials, it is inevitable that accidents will occur, often leading to severe, catastrophic or even deadly results.

Exposure to toxic chemicals, electrocution and moving or falling machinery are often to blame for such accidents. While most contractors and employers follow the Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines to minimize the potential for accidents, some do not, and that could put their workers in jeopardy.

Workers who are injured on the job may be entitled to workers' compensation to cover lost wages and medical expenses associated with your injury. Although workers' compensation may be obtained by working with your employer, if you believe that you are not being treated fairly or that they may be liable due to unsafe working conditions, you may want to have your situation reviewed by a legal professional. They may be able to look at your situation and determine whether you may be eligible for additional compensation. Proving that negligence played a role is not always easy; it may be best to work with a firm to maximize the potential for success. The decision you make today could change your life forever.
